Ben J. Turner—LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor), Founder of Rebis Counseling & Hypnosis, LLC

Therapy isn’t about fixing people. It isn’t about giving advice, handing out coping skills, or pretending life can be reduced to a worksheet.
It’s about understanding.
Every person develops ways of thinking, feeling, and relating that once made sense. Over time, those same patterns can become the very things that keep us stuck. My role is to help you recognize those patterns and create enough space for something different to emerge.
I don’t believe meaningful change comes from forcing ourselves to become someone else. More often, it comes from becoming more deeply acquainted with who we already are.
My style is conversational, collaborative, and direct. Some sessions are practical and problem-focused. Others become exploratory, where we examine the stories, assumptions, and experiences that quietly shape the way you move through the world. Rather than following a rigid formula, I try to meet each person where they are and adapt therapy to fit what is genuinely helpful.
I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including experiential therapy, systems thinking, existential psychology, and clinical hypnosis when appropriate. These are tools—not identities. My commitment isn’t to a particular school of therapy, but to helping each person find a way forward that is authentic and lasting.

What You Can Expect
Therapy with me is collaborative. I won’t assume I know your life better than you do, and I won’t ask you to accept easy answers. I’ll ask questions that matter, notice patterns that may have gone unseen, and help you make sense of experiences that have felt confusing or overwhelming.
Our goal isn’t simply symptom reduction, though that’s important. It’s helping you develop a way of relating to yourself and your life that remains resilient long after therapy ends.
A Little About Me
Outside of the office, I enjoy writing, reading, cooking, and spending time with my wife and daughter. I’m endlessly curious about psychology, philosophy, language, and the ways people create meaning from their experiences. That curiosity doesn’t just stay in books though, it shapes how I listen, how I think, and ultimately how I practice.
Meaning of Rebis
I chose the name Rebis because it captures something I believe is true about human change. We often experience ourselves as divided—between who we are and who we think we should be, between our past and our future, between strength and vulnerability, certainty and doubt. Therapy is not the process of eliminating one side in favor of another. It is the work of understanding both well enough that something new can emerge. The Rebis has long symbolized this integration, and it serves as a reminder that healing is less about perfection than about becoming whole.
If you’re wondering whether we’d be a good fit, I’d be glad to have a conversation.
